The first series produced for the Eldoran franchise funded by Tomy and produced by Sunrise. It aired in Japan from April 3, 1991 to March 25, 1992. The story revolves around a group of elementary school children who are given command of a mecha named Raijin-Oh and their efforts to defend the Earth from the evil Jaku Empire.

Raijin-Oh is composed of three different robots: Ken-Oh, Hou-Oh and Juu-Oh.

Ken-Oh which literally means Sword King forms Raijin-Oh's torso and is piloted by Jin. Jin is responsible for Raijin-Oh's movements and is considered the lead pilot. Hou-Oh, which means Phoenix King, is piloted by Asuka and forms the arms and wings. Asuka controls Raijin-Oh's flight. While, Juu-Oh, which means Beast King, forms the legs as well as Raijin-Oh's shield. Juu-Oh is piloted by Kouji and he's responsible for all of the weapon's systems.
